These instructions refer to the Secure VPN, which is different from the regular VPN, which is what most people need and all current faculty, staff and students have access to.

Students will almost never need to use the Secure VPN, and should use the regular VPN. If you are a student and you need Secure VPN access in order to connect to a secure resource such as Vault, then you should contact the helpdesk immediately. If this relates to a student employment position, then your supervisor should contact the helpdesk immediately.

The Secure VPN is available to faculty and staff who have completed the Data Security Training as required by the College's Written Information Security Program and Computing Resources for Remote Access Policy, and have requested Secure VPN access.

Please note: if you have any problems using the Secure VPN, please try pointing AnyConnect to vpn.wellesley.edu without the /secure to see if that works. If it does, and you can access what you need, you are all set! If that works, but you need to use the vpn.wellesley.edu/secure setup, and you continue to have issues, please contact the Help Desk.

Once you have access, you can use the Secure VPN from many devices by following the directions below.

  • Windows 10: follow these directions to install the AnyConnect Client.
    • Secure VPN access requires up- to-date antivirus software.
  • Mac OS X 10.13 - macOS 11: follow these directions to install the AnyConnect Client.
